What is the relationship between freeee.in (including its associate websites) and freeee foundation?

freeee foundation is a private, independent foundation governed by an independent Board of Trustees. freeee.in including its associate websites is a unique information portal of micro-niche markets for business excellence, education, jobs, travel, yellow pages, freeee ads, recipes, online store, matrimonial, advertisements, web-hosting, design, print, email, clubs and networking.  freeee.in donates 10% of its after-tax profits to freeee foundation for distribution to charities.

freeee foundation continues its philanthropic mission by undertaking projects in focus areas and also making grants to nonprofit organizations that help transform lives and nourish the common good. The foundation is committed to incorporating founding Trustees spirit and values into its work.

How much does freeee foundation give away each year?

Given that this is first year of operations, freeee foundation would be funding projects and making grants not exceeding 15% of its income from corpus funds in a year in addition to the contributions received for specific funds, programs and projects.

Who does the freeee foundation support and how are funding decisions made?

freeee foundation executes projects and provides grants by invitation only to organizations that meet our funding guidelines and fit our focus areas.  Please visit what-we-support for more information about our funding guidelines and focus area.

Are there programs or projects that freeee foundation does not fund?

Our funding guidelines describe the restrictions on the types of organizations/requests that we do not fund.

How does my organization apply for a grant?

All grant inquiries and applications for funding are by invitation only. Regretfully, freeee foundation is unable to respond to unsolicited requests.  You may however, submit your request for consideration and subsequent invitation, please write to us at requestproject@freeeefoundation.org  

freeee foundation does not assure you whether your requests would be considered. 

Is there a specific range for amounts awarded for grants?

freeee foundation awards grants of varying sizes depending on the nature and complexity of specific project being funded. 

Where do you operate in India or in USA or rest of the world?

freeee foundation is a charitable foundation registered at Mumbai, Maharashtra, INDIA.  We support projects and provide grants to organizations in India, in addition to nonprofits that have headquarters in the U.S. and having operations in India.  freeee.in provides its services over internet throughout the world.

Are your financial records open to the public?

As a private nonprofit organization, we provide financial reports in accordance with the prevailing, laws, rules and regulations. 

Does freeee foundation accept donations?

Yes.  Our goal is to honor the intentions of generous people and organizations.  People generously offer to contribute money to freeee foundation.  We prefer that people give donations with direct reference of the project that they want to be associated with to help advance the causes they passionate about.  Because our financial resources, while significant, represent a small fraction of what’s needed to address the challenges, we welcome donations towards the projects, towards the corpus, to designated funds and also towards to common pool.  Donations have been very helpful to achieve the greatest possible impact.

Do people or organizations get tax benefits or tax breaks for their donations to freeee foundation?

Currently there are no tax breaks or benefits for donations made to freeee foundation.  However, we are working on a fast track basis to get the necessary approvals.  Subsequently (after the approvals). individuals and organizations would enjoy tax benefits as a result of making charitable contributions to freeee foundation. The amount of tax savings received depends on both the size of the charitable contributions and the person's annual income based on prevailing statutory provisions. 

I received an email notification that I won a prize or lottery or grant from freeee foundation. Is this true?

No.  We do not send out emails which states that you WON a prize or lottery or grant from freeee foundation.  To report instances of phishing and email fraud conducted in the foundation's name, please send a copy of the suspect email correspondence complete with email header information, to our Email Abuse Box at phishing@freeeefoundation.org You can also send copies of the email addresses of offending web sites to this address.

To be clear, freee foundation, its trustees or any employee of freeee foundation: 

• Do not sponsor lotteries of any kind.

• Do not require/request grantees to pay insurance, handling, deposits, or delivery fees for grant funds.

• Do not offer investment opportunities.

• Do not request conference fees.

 

Here are some tips to help you avoid email scams:

• Be suspicious of unsolicited emails that ask for personal or financial information.

• Avoid filling out forms in email messages.

• Log on to official websites instead of clicking on links embedded in an email.

• Contact the organization that is supposedly sending the email to verify if it is genuine.

• Be wary if you receive an email saying you won a lottery or have been awarded a grant.

• Be cautious if you are asked to wire money.

Why did you make that investment in XYZ program or institution or project?

We often receive questions about why a specific investment was made or why a specific project was taken. Because we have set priorities approved by the Board of Trustees, we make these decisions in line with the focus areas and priorities.  We  do not comment on individual projects, grants or funding to an institution.
